Multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of defense beyond just a password —such as a code from an authenticator app, biometric verification, or a hardware token—making unauthorized access far less likely. MFA is currently the most effective way to prevent account compromise in the face of modern cyberattacks.

This week, we encountered numerous significant cybersecurity news events that posed challenges in compiling our Headline Highlights. However, we found it relatively straightforward to create our TWA. Notably, we observed that many of these cybersecurity issues could have been mitigated with enhanced security measures.

  • Personal Identifier - A unique word or phrase shared exclusively with an individual or a group, serving as a means of identification and affirmation within the established relationship. It is recommended that 2 or more Personal Identifiers be established per person.
