Backing up yet? Unsophisticated attacks are increasing and devastating.

Our mission is to help you not fall victim to cyberattacks. It is more devastating to have been attacked than to do all the preventions necessary to make it difficult for you to be a target of attacks.

We have been warned that cyber attacks are increasing. The mission of Hexagon Center is to make sure that you don’t fall prey to these attacks by raising your awareness and vigilance.

REMEMBER: Don’t respond to calls, texts and emails you are not familiar with. Don’t click on links frivolously. Practice good cyber hygiene.

Meanwhile … if you use any of these businesses, look up cybersecurity news on Ticketmaster, TeamViewer, HubSpot, Microsoft, Prudential and banks. PLUS, US Supreme Court ruling will likely cause cyber regulation chaos

🤷‍♀️ What now?

We’re here for you even if you fall victim to any cyber attacks

Turn on your MFA, make sure your passwords are super long, but whatever precautions you take, don’t forget to backup, backup, backup. If you’re not sure what to do, contact Hexagon Center for help.

Backup your computers, backup your phones and tablets. Cloud backup is fine but if you can also have a local backup (backing up into a physical drive), that would be even more ideal.

Depending on how sensitive your data is, backup your data in more than one way is so that you don’t get devastated by a cyber attack.

  • Cyber hygiene, or cybersecurity hygiene - the practices and procedures that individuals and organizations use to maintain the health and security resilience of their systems, devices, networks, and data. The main goal of cyber hygiene is to keep sensitive data secure and protected from cyber-attacks and theft.

  • MFA (Multi-factor authentication or 2FA or 2-Factor Authentication) - a multi-step or 2-step account login process that requires users to enter more information than just one.

  • Cyber Attackers and Cyber Predators - these terms refer to people who use any kind of technology, including cell phones, to prey on us.

  • Ransomware - a type of malware that prevents a victim from accessing their files, devices, systems, or data by encrypting or locking them. The attacker will only make the data accessible again after receiving a ransom payment.
