Your password reset request is here

Did you really request for a password reset or security access code? Think again. They say it may be a mistake but is it, really?

Notification of password reset

but it wasn’t you …

This could be a security access code. You could be a victim of the recent MOAB (Mother of All Breaches) that affected 26 billion records!

If you received such an email, first of all, make sure it’s from a legitimate organization that you are familiar with, then be sure to use the provided link to inform the organization that it wasn’t you.

We received a lot of feedback that the newsletter is too long and we are taking it to heart because it is crucial that people know as much as they can afford. That is why this is a free service. Nothing in our newsletter is frivolous but we are eliminating some things and spreading it around the newsletter to make it shorter. For example, the news highlights section is gone and we are sprinkling it in sentences like the one above this paragraph. This newsletter is important. If it works, nothing will happen. But if it doesn’t work, we will feel the impact. Please continue to give us feedback. Thank you.

Nope, we are not going to tell you to update your iPhone every time there’s a new update but this one is very important!

Think before you click …

Bad actors want you to download software immediately saying it’s “crucial”. It’s called “drive-by downloads.” Beware. Here’s what to watch out for:

Educate and be informed about cybersecurity and share it with our friends and family.

HX Briefing will never need to be a daily newsletter if our readers read it weekly.

The 🐘 In The Room

Last week, we talked about how Facebook tracks you and uses too much of your data.

Consider using Facebook from the browser and not the app.

The threat calculus is that we have to be right all the time but the attacker only needs to be right once. 🎯
